Salt Cay is considered the Whale Watching Headquarters from January to March each year. Salt Cay is directly in front of Columbus Passage where the Atlantic humpbacks migrate to the Silver Banks between the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Dominican Republic to calve and mate. When scuba diving and snorkeling you can hear the mesmorizing sounds from the Humpbacks. The beautiful songs assist them with their navigational skills.

Although we have no casinos and not much night life other than some good reggae music and  occasional dancing, we have a lot to offer in the areas of activities. Our island has iguanas, rare birds and spectacular beaches to walk. For the nature lover, there are several types of birds including osprey nests for bird watchers. Hiking and shell collecting are among some favorite pastimes as our beaches are deserted as we do not have large numbers of tourists. We have beautiful reefs to snorkel and world class scuba diving with walls starting at 35 feet and going down to 7000 feet! Visitors to Salt Cay travel to both Grand Turk and Salt Cay walls to dive.
